New initiative to boost cycling among Londoners

Transport for London (TfL) is launching an initiative to encourage more Londoners to take up cycling in the capital. The program, known as TfL Cycle Sundays, aims to

provide a variety of support including leisure routes, cycling discounts, training, and safety tips.

TfL announced that the initiative will feature a range of leisurely, easy-to-follow cycle routes designed for new cyclists of all abilities. These routes will be available on TfL's website and through the TfL Cycle Sundays Club on the Strava app.

In addition to promoting these routes, TfL is actively working on expanding cycle paths throughout London. The selected routes have been developed in collaboration with various partners, including British Cycling, Cycle Sisters, JoyRiders, London Cycling Campaign, Sustrans, and Wheels for Wellbeing.

Highlighted routes include park rides in Greenwich and Battersea, an accessible cycle tour of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and a loop through parks in Haringey, among many others spread across the capital.

Miranda Leedham of TfL emphasized the importance of encouraging Londoners from all backgrounds to enjoy the benefits of cycling. "We are delighted to launch this exciting new program," she said.
