A London police officer who worked in the hate crimes unit has been dismissed for sharing antisemitic content on Instagram following Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, officials
confirmed Friday.
Detective Constable Ibrahim Khan posted a series of offensive images and messages to an account with approximately 250 followers between October 17 and 23. Among the posts was an image showing Nazi leader Adolf Hitler morphing into Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accompanied by the caption: “the irony of becoming what you once hated.”
Police described the posts as “antisemitic and grossly offensive,” and said Khan’s actions constituted gross misconduct.
Other posts included a comparison of a 1945 mass grave with an alleged mass grave in Gaza, and a caption stating: “Gazans have none of this. It’s a concentration camp.” Another post accused people of spreading lies “to try gain Western sympathy,” ending with an expletive.
Following a misconduct hearing, Khan was officially dismissed from the force.
