Environmental protesters defaced Britain's Stonehenge on Wednesday, spraying paint on the world-famous prehistoric monument. Footage released by the
environmental group Just Stop Oil shows two protesters running towards the megaliths and spraying them with paint, while another person attempts to intervene.
Stonehenge, located in southern England, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most visited tourist attractions in Britain.
Local police reported that two individuals have been arrested on suspicion of damaging the ancient monument.
Just Stop Oil, known for its disruptive environmental protests in Britain, has previously shut down major roads, disrupted cultural and sporting events, and even thrown soup at a Van Gogh painting. The group demands that the British government halt the extraction and burning of oil, gas, and coal by 2030.
