Elderly man and woman attacked on South London trains by group of teenage girls

Police are investigating two separate assaults on elderly passengers that occurred just hours apart on trains departing from London Bridge.

The first incident happened around 9:30pm on Tuesday, March 18, aboard a Southeastern train traveling from London Bridge to Woolwich Arsenal. A man was reportedly attacked by three girls during the journey.

Later that evening, at approximately 11pm, an elderly woman was assaulted on a train heading to Erith. A teenage girl approached and attacked her. When another woman tried to intervene, the same girl allegedly attempted to assault her as well. Investigators believe the same group of teenage girls may be responsible for both attacks.

British Transport Police (BTP) have released images of the suspects in an effort to identify them. The descriptions are as follows:

One girl wore a pink top underneath a black parka with a fluffy hood.

Another had on a black jacket with a red logo on the right sleeve, paired with grey trousers and black shoes.

The third suspect was seen wearing a black jacket and a grey tracksuit.
